Dad Saves Daughter After Going Overboard on Disney Cruise Heroic Rescue After Dad Saves His Daughter After Falling Overboard on Disney Cruise FT. LAUDERDALE–A terrifying incident unfolded aboard a Disney cruise as a young child reportedly went overboard during the voyage as the ship returned to Ft. Lauderdale. Bringing a moment of hope amidst fear, the 4-year old's dad heroically jumped in after her, ensuring her safety in what could have been a fatal tragedy. The quick response and courage displayed by the father emphasize the unpredictable challenges that can arise even on family-friendly vacations. • MICHIGAN | Wilson Phillips to Perform at Four Winds Casino New Buffalo’s Silver Creek Event Center on Friday, August 8

Wilson Phillips at Four Winds New Buffalo's Casino August 8, 2025 Wilson Phillips at Four Winds New Buffalo's Casino in Michigan Friday, August 8 at 9p.m. NEW BUFFALO, MI– The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ Four Winds® Casinos are pleased to announce a performance by Wilson Phillips at Four Winds New Buffalo’s Silver Creek® Event Center in Michigan on Friday, August 8 at 9 p.m. Eastern.  Ticket prices for the show start at $35, plus applicable fees, and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster .  Hotel rooms are available on the night of the concert and can be purchased with event tickets. If ever the term “music business royalty” applies, it is custom made for Wilson Phillips.  Literally born into the music business, Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson, and Chynna Phillips were born with vocal harmonies in their DNA.  Carnie and Wendy are the daughters of Beach Boy legend Brian Wilson, and Chynna is the daughter of the equally notorious Michelle and John Phillips of the famed Mamas and Papas. Friends since birth, Carnie and Chynna knew each other even before Wendy was born.  Best friends growing up, the three of them would often share their love for music and specifically for vocal harmonies.  In 1989 they were signed to SBK Records, and their debut album was released in 1990. Their debut album had three number one singles including HOLD ON, RELEASE ME, and IMPULSIVE.  And it sold five million copies in the US alone.  Their debut album was nominated for four Grammy awards. Their follow up album, released in 1992, had their fourth number one single YOU’RE IN LOVE.  They have sold over ten million albums worldwide over their storied career becoming one of the best-selling female groups in recorded music history. Taking a break from recording and touring, all three have married (they still are married to their first husbands) and collectively have raised nine children as very hands-on moms. Returning to recording in 2004 releasing three albums on Sony – their take on California classics (CALIFORNIA), a wonderful Christmas album (CHRISTMAS IN HARMONY), and a tribute album singing the hits of their parents (DEDICATED).  All three albums charted in the Billboard top 50 and get airplay to this day. The most unexpected “surprise” in their career was their appearance in the comedy classic BRIDESMAIDS in 2011 singing HOLD ON.  It was a surprise in that they were told that they were simply performing in a “wedding scene.”  The director, Judd Apatow never told them they were in the final scene and the punchline in the entire movie.  That classic scene secured their place as one of the most beloved harmony groups ever. And these best friends continue to record and harmonize with each other releasing a harmony-rich version of Harry Styles’ song BOYFRIENDS in November of 2022. • NAPERVILLE | 14 Year Old Charged with Possession of Loaded Semi-Automatic Handgun in Naperville

14 Year Old Charged with Possession of Loaded Gun in Naperville NAPERVILLE–A concerning incident has shaken the community of Naperville as a 14-year-old juvenile was recently charged with unlawful possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun. The joint announcement came from DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Naperville Chief of Police Jason Arres, highlighting the severity of the situation and the diligence of law enforcement. The juvenile, a Naperville resident, was charged with one count of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, classified as a Class 4 Felony. During a detention hearing in front of Judge Chantelle Porter, the juvenile was ordered to be released on home detention with electronic monitoring. NAPERVILLE | 14 Year Old Charged with Possession of Loaded Semi-Automatic Handgun in Naperville Incident Details The incident occurred on the evening of June 14, 2025, in the well-traveled area of Washington Street and Jefferson Avenue during a “teen takeover” event. Naperville police officers, conducting additional patrols, observed the juvenile acting suspiciously. Upon performing a safety pat-down, an officer recovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun from the juvenile’s waistband, leading to his arrest. DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin expressed deep concern, stating, “The allegation that a fourteen-year-old boy was in possession of a semi-automatic handgun during an extremely crowded downtown event is extremely disturbing. This vigilant policing likely prevented a potential tragedy.” Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres echoed these sentiments, commending his officers’ professionalism and reinforcing their commitment to community safety. “Residents and visitors can expect to see continued police presence at events and gatherings to ensure safety is our top priority,” he said. The juvenile’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 27, 2025. It is important to note that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. This troubling event is a reminder of the critical role law enforcement plays in maintaining safety in our communities. Source: DuPage Count States Attorney / Naperville Police Department
