MOM'S LITTLE BLACK BOOK | Plainfield River Tubing

A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT!

PLAINFIELD–Living in Naperville I am fortunate to be so close to the DuPage River and Fox River access points to take full advantage of tubing and kayaking fun between Memorial and Labor Day! One of the most relaxing afternoons can be spent floating along the DuPage River with your friends and family all tied together in a circle of tubes!

This summer was a rare occurrence where I got to take advantage of spending a #MomsLittleBlackBook adventure with my two daughters who were home for a short stay. Linking up with another mom and her daughter, we packed our coolers full of snacks and cold drinks and took the short ten-minute drive to Plainfield. We hopped aboard the Plainfield River Tubing Shuttle that brought us to the south end of town and dutifully assisted us getting on the river in a perfect circle with our cooler tube easily accessible to all.

While floating downstream, you forget you live in a city of nearly 200,000 people. All your worries slip away as you pass ducklings, riverfront lemonade stands, and nearby neighbors playing the Pina Colada song.

Good conversation, great music, and sunshine ensued for the next 3 hours as we floated down the river with no cares in the world. You can stop at shell island and chat with other rafters, or simply stay in your tube and wave as you pass on by.

This is an all-ages activity, and since you can pack your own coolers, it becomes an extremely affordable activity for the whole family or your posse of friends!

Pack your water shoes, bring your sunscreen, and get ready for the perfect summer escape while leaving the transportation and tubes to Plainfield River Tubing and enjoy the simplicities of life!
