Rollin' on the River with BOJ-E-BIKES in Batavia
There’s no sweeter way to explore the Fox River Valley than on two wheels—with ice cream in hand and sunshine on your face. BOJ-E-BIKES in Batavia has launched a new Sweet Treats Guided E-Bike Tour that combines the joy of effortless cruising with stops at local candy and ice cream shops, creating a memorable adventure for riders of all ages and abilities.
Our tour began at BOJ-E-BIKES in downtown Batavia, where we were fitted with electric bikes designed for every level of rider—from those who wanted to pedal a lot, to those who preferred to just sit back and coast with motorized ease.

We had a blast journeying along the scenic Fox River Trail through the heart of Batavia, St. Charles, and Geneva, crossing charming bridges and winding past riverside views, native wildflowers, and shaded forest preserves. Highlights included power boosting up the hill to visit the iconic Batavia Windmill Museum, winding through the peaceful Fabyan Forest Preserve, and strolling past the whimsical sculptures of Mt. St. Mary Park. The trail is a perfect blend of nature, history, and small-town charm.
Of course, no sweet-themed tour would be complete without delicious detours. We stopped at Hey Sugar for unique bakery treats and pop-up photo opps; Kilwins for rich fudge and creamy scoops of handcrafted ice cream; and Rocket Fizz for retro candies, quirky sodas and unique treats from around the world.
The entire experience lasted approximately two hours, offering plenty of time to enjoy both the ride and the bites. Our knowledgeable guide led the way, sharing fun facts about local landmarks and ensuring everyone felt safe and comfortable on their e-bikes.

Whether you're planning a family outing, girls’ day, date adventure, or just want to see the Tri-Cities in a whole new (and delicious) way, E-Bike Tours, such as The Dam Tour – History of the Fox River Dams; the Architectural/Historic Building Tour; the Shopping Spree, and the Home Decor Tour are the perfect way. With stunning views, sweet indulgences, and no pedaling required if you choose, BOJ-E-BIKES delivers a unique tour that’s as fun as it is flavorful.
