LISLE–The stunning colors of spring are in full bloom this week at The Morton Arboretum! Follow the Bloom Report to spot the vibrant yellow daffodils dancing along Daffodil Glade (Parking Lot 22), see the beautiful pink and white magnolia leaves swaying in the wind of the Magnolia Collection (Parking Lot 5), follow the sweet scents of hyacinth and honeysuckle wafting through the Fragrance Garden, and watch as flowering redbuds bring their bright colors to Lake Marmo (Parking Lot 27). Plan your visit now to see spring's captivating new blooms.


There's still time to purchase your tickets for the Arbor Day Plant Sale on Thursday, April 27, through Saturday, April 29. Shop one of the largest plant sales in the Chicago region, featuring thousands of carefully chosen plants and shrubs. Expert Plant Geniuses will be available to find the perfect plant for your yard and help answer questions. Limited tickets are still available for Saturday, April 29, and are selling quickly. Join the Arboretum in celebrating Arbor Day, a significant holiday, with events throughout April for visitors of all ages to enjoy. Bring your child to run, climb, and play with Nature Cat in the Children's Garden on Wednesday, April 26. Take in the views of Meadow Lake as you enjoy a special vegetarian menu in the Ginkgo Restaurant through Sunday, April 23. Stop by the Membership Services Desk to join, renew, upgrade, or gift a 2YR Morton membership from Thursday, April 27, through Sunday, April 30, and receive a free Arboretum backpack. You can also celebrate Arbor Day with a gift to help the Arboretum pay tribute to trees, protect them, and plant more of them.

Adult Education Take a guided tour of new spring blooms with an expert during a Spring Flowering Trees Walking Tour (in person) on Friday, April 28. Identify Illinois’ spring resident and migratory birds by sight and call in Field Study: Birds of Spring (in person) on Saturday, April 29. Discover the practice of forest bathing during a Forest Therapy Walk (in person) on Friday, May 5. Sip a bird-inspired bourbon cocktail as you learn about spring migration in Birds and Bourbon (in person) on Wednesday, May 10.


Family Programs Sign your child up for the Little Trees Nature-Based Early Learning Program. In this nine-month program, 3–5 year old children will discover the wonder and beauty of the Arboretum as they play, learn, and grow. Attend a Woodland Family Hike in April or May to be inspired by spring's early blooms and experience its magical wildflowers. Register now for Native STEM, a one-day program for pre-K to 8th grade children to explore the Arboretum’s ecosystems with STEM activities based on the traditions and knowledge of Native peoples.


Upcoming Events It's not too late to sign up for the Champion of Trees 10K on Saturday, April 22, to run past trees from around the world and celebrate with a postrace party. Savor seasonal wine outdoors at the Spring Wine Tasting on Saturday, May 13. Enjoy over 150 nature-themed photographs created by local artists at The Morton Arboretum Photographic Society Exhibit of Nature Photography on Saturday, May 6, and Sunday, May 7. Unwind with great music, family, and friends at Arbor Evenings, starting on Wednesday, May 31, and running through August.
