COVER STORY | Moms Helping Moms: Meet Jenn Carr of St. Charles/Geneva

AS CO-HOST OF THE MOM WALK COLLECTIVE, THIS LOCAL MOM HELPS MOMS FIND THEIR VILLAGE

ST. CHARLES/GENEVA–Throughout Jenn’s life, she has strived to embody Mahatma Gandhi's famous words, Be the change you wish to see in the world. She understands the importance of taking action to bring about positive change which is why in March 2023 she assumed the role as ambassador and co-host of The Mom Walk Collective in Geneva with another mother, Shelby Reints.

Founded initially by Jamie Easton who was struggling with balancing the new changes of motherhood, marriage, work, and friendships, The organization was formed to cultivate in-person and online social gatherings for mothers to find their village and raise the next generation.

“What I love most about it is the sense of community it provides for mothers and their children,” Jenn says. “I have been able to build friendships not only for myself but also for my daughter, Nova (7 months). It's a wonderful feeling to connect with other mothers who understand the joys and challenges of motherhood and to have a safe space where we can share advice, commiserate, and support each other. It's a wonderful feeling to be a part of something that is helping mothers feel less alone in their journey.”

The group is connecting families to local businesses and contributing to the sustainability of what makes their community unique, while also serving as an enriching experience of friendship and support.

“When I moved to St. Charles, I wanted to get involved and make an impact in the community, but I was uncertain about how and where to begin. It wasn’t until I became a mother and recognized my own personal need for local mom friends that I discovered The Mom Walk Collective and I am honored to be a part of something that is helping mothers,” Jenn adds.
