Rumer Haven COATTAILS AND COCKTAILS Born and raised in Bartlett, Colleen Keough Wagner has been writing and publishing books since 2014 under the pen name, Rumer Haven. Her current (and third) novel, Coattails and Cocktails, is a romance and mystery set in the 1920’s in a mansion inspired by Colonel Robert McCormick’s house at Cantigny Park in Wheaton.
Currently living in London with her husband, Ryan, it was a trip home to Illinois to see family that gave her the opportunity to tour Cantigny’s historic grounds and first sparked the idea for the story setting. “I was always a fan of Agatha Christie,” says Colleen, “and I wanted to write a murder mystery. Coattails and Cocktails is where Agatha Christie meets The Great Gatsby.”
Originally a finance consultant, Colleen found that business never made her tick, so after a few years, she changed courses and earned a masters degree in education, going on to teach high school English. Once she moved to London, she found more time to write and pursue publication as well as working as an editor.
Her second novel written under Rumer Haven, What the Clocks Know, recently won First Place in General Fiction for the 2017 Red City Review Book Awards. These books, including her first one, Seven for a Secret, can be found on Amazon in both print and e-book format. –Mindy Kyle
