THE DRING FAMILY, WINFIELD/WHEATON Making s'mores and hot dogs while hanging out with friends by the fire pit at home is one of the Dring’s favorite summer pastimes. The kids also love to simply bike to the local Winfield CVS, Dairy Queen, or Dunkin Donuts and get sweet treats or drinks with their friends; or head over to Red Hawk Park in Carol Stream or Pleasant Hill School to play basketball or football with the gang. Each summer the family also enjoys their annual tradition of attending the Illinois State Fair.
There is never a lonely moment when you’re a Dring because there is usually a sibling to be found close by. Tonya and Dan have five kids - a 19-year old son plus 15-year old quadruplets. Add in a few friends and they can pretty much get a group discounted rate anywhere they go for summer fun!
The Drings have been living in Winfield for the past 6 years and love the small town homey feel. Their favorite place to eat is Tony’s Steamers in Winfield where they can relish a great Vienna Beef hotdog, and they especially love Monday night’s Buy One, Get One Free Pizza at Evviva's Pizza in downtown Wheaton!
Nathan (19) enjoys his summer break from the College of Dupage hanging out at Mile Long Records in downtown Wheaton while Reagan (15) volunteers for FTEA (Friends for Therapeutic Equine Activities) and takes horseback riding lessons at Kingsway Farms in Winfield. Caroline (15) and Heath (15) are very involved in all Bands at Wheaton North High School and Wil (15) participates in Cross Country.
Big family summer fun is sure to include weekly visits to College Church in Wheaton where the entire Dring family is very active! Photos by Lynn Logan
