MASK-WEARING MR. EGGWARDS DEPICTS THE FIGHT AGAINST CORONAVIRUS Year after year, as spring emerges in the Fox Valley, the landscape of Mt. St. Mary Park in St. Charles presents a striking and engaging sculpture exhibition against the backdrop of nature's seasonal beauty with its Sculpture In the Park exhibit. This year, however, things are a bit different as our communities continue to operate at a minimum with residents ordered to 'Shelter In Place'. Once again this spring, one of the exhibits most popular sculptures, Mr. Eggwards, happily sits atop a stone wall in the park. But this spring he looks a bit different. In the past few weeks, area residents gave him a mask to represent the times during the COVID-19 crisis. We reached out to the St. Charles Park District to see how they felt about Mr. Eggwards new look and here's what they shared with us. "Mr. Eggwards has consistently been dressed up over the years by park visitors to represent “the times”. He was bundled in a hat and scarf during a blizzard, dressed in green for St. Patrick’s Day, and now someone has fitted him with a mask during COVID-19. It's just one small example of how people interact with and enjoy St. Charles parks." said Holly Cabel, Director of Parks & Recreation for the St. Charles Park District. Thank you Mr. Eggwards for always being there, through the good times and bad. Photo with Mask by 365 Things to Do In St. Charles VIEW SCULPTURE IN THE PARK EXHIBITS THROUGH THE YEARS
