NINTH ANNUAL RECYCLE EVENT The Naperville Park District announces its 9th annual holiday lights recycling program in partnership with Elgin R ecycling , beginning Nov. 18, 2019 and ending Feb. 1, 2020. Residents and businesses are invited to bring their old, nonworking lights to any of the following locations: Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center , located at 305 W. Jackson Ave. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fort Hill Activity Center , located at 20 Fort Hill Drive. Hours of operation are: Monday-Friday, 5:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., Saturday, 6:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. and Sunday, 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Knoch Knolls Nature Center , located at 320 Knoch Knolls Rd. Hours of operation through November are: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., and Sunday 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. December, January and February hours are the same except the Center will be closed on Sundays. Springbrook Golf Course  Golf Shop , located at 2220 W. 83rd. St. In 2018, Naperville Park District joined with 51 villages, 7 other park districts, 2 businesses, 2 libraries, 2 churches and 1 high school in the region to help Elgin Recycling collect 101,747 lbs. of holiday lights. This year’s goal is to keep 110,000 lbs. of lights out of the landfill. The following types of lights will be accepted: Mini-lights, C-7 lights, C-9 lights, Rope lights, LED lights and extension cords. All colors and lengths will be accepted. When dropping off lights, please place them in the bin without a bag or box. MORE INFORMATION
