Kid Tested & Family Approved BATAVIA– Hall Quarry Beach occupies a former stone quarry owned by the Batavia Park District. It has been used as a swimming facility since 1920. It features a sand bottom swimming area covering 60,000 square feet that includes islands, slides, and a diving area. Moms love that there’s a playground and plenty of picnic tables. Pool passes are available to residents, and visitors may pay a daily fee. Come visit the beach that Batavia built! Your family will love it. www.bataviaparks.org/harold-hall-quarry-beach Performing Arts for Kids In The Tri-Cities BATAVIA– Children and teens can test their singing and acting abilities on stage. Sharpen your skills or learn what it takes to be in the "biz". Participants will build confidence and develop many skills including teamwork and creative thinking. The Batavia Park District partners with the Arts Center of St. Charles to offer classes to park district participants. The Arts Center is a non-profit organization and features some of the Chicago area's most respected teachers, directors, actors and musicians. Participants will learn from the people who are working at what they love to do. www.bataviaparks.org/performing-arts Summer Fun at School of Rock GENEVA– Through workshops, clinics, and private instruction, this comprehensive camp experience is designed to hone music performance and ensemble skills in a creative and fun environment. They know from experience that playing in a band situation speeds learning and creates “seasoned” musicians. Even relatively advanced musicians are amazed at the amount of progress they make when regularly playing with other musicians. Your kids & teens will find this at School of Rock, Geneva. Playitforward Kids Teaches Kindeness WHEATON–Playitforward Kids is a monthly activity created for kids to learn early on how to give to others/help others while having fun and playing together. Get Your Season Pass NAPERVILLE– Jump into summer as you swim in Centennial Beach’s historic stone quarry. It’s not a swimming pool, it’s not a lake, but a swimming experience like no other! Wade into the zero-depth entry and swim to depths of 15 feet. For generations, Centennial Beach has been the local “swimming hole” for many Naperville residents and their guests. NAPERVILLE– Roll them fast, roll them slow, roll them around the curve and watch them go! A mini pop-up experience featuring Trains is rolling into the Museum May 1 - June 14 with a special Train Day event on Saturday, May 12. Play more at DuPage Children’s Museum (DCM) where your family will laugh, learn, and love spending time together. Catch the train before it leaves the station! www.dupagechildrens.org (630) 637-8000 Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals 2018 WHEATON – Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals 5K/10K and Kids 1/2 Mile Kids events are hosted by the Cosley Foundation to raise funds for the animals at Cosley Zoo as well as exhibit development projects, public programs, and conservation projects. Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals is one of the suburbs largest 5K/10K running events. The 5K/10K events are CARA certified and the course is USATF certified. The first 2,500 participants receive a long-sleeve tech t-shirt as part of their run registration fees. All participants are also welcome to join us at the Post Race Party for music, awards, and refreshments.
