TRICK OR TREAT IN DOWNTOWN AURORA ON OCT 29 DOWNTOWN AURORA –Get ready for this super fun and exciting Halloween event that's coming up in Aurora. Loved by all who attend year after year, Aurora Downtown will host its annual Trick or Treat Downtown event from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. Costumes are encouraged, and all ages and abilities are welcome. Aurora Downtown, a group of downtown business and property owners, first hosted the event in 2015, and it has since become a family favorite. "It's such a fun, lively event. We love to see the community's creativity every year," said Marissa Amoni, manager of Aurora Downtown. The free event invites families to dress up and visit more than 40 participating locations in downtown Aurora. Small businesses, museums, and several restaurants will be open with treats. The event coincides with Sugar Skull City, a downtown-wide Day of the Dead celebration, and visitors can view ofrendas, painted storefronts, and more. Participants can pick up a map at Santori Public Library, Aurora Regional Fire Museum, and David L. Pierce Art and History Center. Locations will have orange paper pumpkins on their doors. The event is rain or shine. For more information, visit www.auroradowntown.org . About Aurora Downtown Since 1975, Aurora Downtown is a nonprofit group of business and property owners within Special Service Area (SSA) One that works to achieve a healthy and thriving downtown for all to enjoy. HALLOWEEN HAPPENING SET FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 24 AT THE RIVERWALK PAVILLION Halloween Happening , presented by Woody Buick/GMC, returns for 2021 at the Grand Pavilion at the Riverwalk from 1:00–4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 24. This free event is designed for children ages 10 and under featuring Halloween-themed games and activity stations where they can collect treats and win prizes. The spacious lawn at the Grand Pavilion allows the activities to be spread out, allowing plenty of space for social distancing. Kids are welcome to wear their favorite costumes to the event. Halloween Happening began in 1983 as safe alternative to trick-or-treating in a family-friendly community setting. The event has continued every year since then, except 2020, when the Park District offered “Halloween Nights Lights” as a drive-through experience in its place during the height of the pandemic. Now in its 38th year, Halloween Happening has become a tradition in Naperville. Thanks to the generous support from more than 100 student volunteers and from our sponsors, the Park District is able to keep this event free for the community. Sponsors of the 2021 event include the following businesses: Woody Buick GMC (Presenting Sponsor), Living well Dental, Rocket Ice, Rose Pest Solutions, Duly Health and Care (formerly DuPage Medical Group), G&G Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, Mathnasium, FBC Remodel, Russian School of Mathematics, The Pearl of Naperville and The Home Improvement Network.
