NEW RESTAURANT COMING THIS SUMMER TO DOWNTOWN DOWNERS GROVE The west suburban community is excited after learning about the latest restaurant news for Downtown Downers Grove. The popular shopping and dining destination will soon add Entourage to its list of go-to dining and cocktail hot spots. The restaurant will be opening this summer at 5101 Main Street, formerly occupied by Capri. The announcement came late Friday afternoon with a social media post– Downers Grove, we're coming for you! We are so excited to formally announce our second Entourage restaurant coming to Downers this summer. More information coming soon! Entourage blends an urban vibe with casual sophistication and a touch of Midwestern hospitality. The Naperville location at 796 Illinois Rte 59 opened in July 2023 and has proven to be every bit as guests hoped it would be. The Downers Grove located will no doubt be welcomed with open arms. The establishment was created by the same visionary restaurateurs –as popular Vai's Italian Inspired Kitchen + Bar in Naperville, also on Route 59. From delectable small plates like Rosemary Focaccia and Jumbo Lump Maryland Crab Cake to mouthwatering steaks including Delmonico Ribeye and Grass Fed Filet Mignon, according to Entourage's website, their culinary artistry knows no bounds. Adding that seafood lovers can relish Orange Basil Salmon and Miso Marinated Chilean Seabass, while signature dishes like the Entourage Burger and Chicken Giardiniera promise delightful satisfaction.
 Sounds pretty amazing. FOLLOW ENTOURAGE

ENJOY NATURE AT THE LOCAL FAVORITE DOWNERS GROVE–This past weekend, Forest Preserve District of DuPage County officials and guests gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the reinstallation of two bridges at Hidden Lake Forest Preserve in Downers Grove. The event, which was held on National Trails Day, marked the successful completion of another 2019 certified master plan project and enhanced trail access at the preserve. Forest Preserve District elected officials, including President Daniel Hebreard, District 2 commissioner Tina Tyson-Dunne, District 3 commissioner Linda Painter, and District 4 commissioner Jeff Gahris, joined state Rep. Terra Costa Howard and Sen. Laura Ellman, Friends of the Forest Preserve District members, preserve neighbors, and other fans of the forest preserves for the celebration. "We are all part of nature’s tapestry, and as we walk this loop today and every time you walk this trail or any other trail, I encourage you to reflect on the interconnectedness of all things — humans are merely one species in our ecosystems,” said Forest Preserve District president Daniel Hebreard. Routine inspections of Hidden Lakes’ bridges revealed structural deficiencies in two existing aging bridges. Last fall the "lake bridge," located on the east side of Round Meadow Lake and serving a recreational trail encircling the lake, was replaced with a 50-foot-long by 14-foot-wide prefabricated truss bridge. The "river bridge," a remarkable 50-foot long by 11-foot-wide cast- and wrought-iron bowstring pony truss bridge dating back to the 1870s, underwent meticulous, month’s-long restoration before it was reinstalled in its previous location over the past few weeks. “If you overlay a modern map onto the 1874 DuPage County atlas, you can see this bridge in the same location as a road that once crossed the river,” said Commissioner Gahris of the bridge, which is the only remaining example of its kind in the Chicago region. “This suggests that this bridge sits in the same location it was originally installed in the 1870s.” Both bridges are now open, inviting visitors to explore the preserve for decades to come. The Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has been connecting people to nature for more than 100 years. More than 5.5 million people visit its 60 forest preserves, 166 miles of trails, seven education centers, and scores of programs each year. For information, call 630-933-7200 or visit dupageforest.org , where you can also link to the District’s e-newsletter and Facebook , Twitter , Instagram , YouTube and TikTok pages.

AREA RESIDENT SEEKS AREA SPONSORSHIPS FOR PAGEANT JOURNEY Downers Grove resident, Felisa Wiley, will be vying for the title of Miss IL USA on March 28, 2021 at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Felisa, niece of Reverend Marvin E. Wiley of Maywood’s Rock of Ages Baptist Church, may be new to the pageant world but is not new to competition. In 2014, Felisa competed in “The Face”, a reality TV competition series on Oxygen alongside supermodels Naomi Campbell and Anne V. Since then, Felisa has modeled in NY and LA with one of the top agencies in the world. Felisa currently works with Foursquare, the leading location data company; and is planning to attend law school in the near future. Felisa is excited to be representing Downers Grove in the Miss IL USA pageant. She is seeking local business, community, and individual sponsors to help support her journey to the crown. “This pageant is less about me and more about representing and standing with my community, especially in such uncertain times. I hope to raise enough money and keep pageant costs down, so I can make substantial donations to these non-profits: The Alzheimer's Association, Reading Partners, and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. I’ve held past charity events and fundraisers for The Alzheimer's Association in loving memory of my grandmother. I cherished my volunteering experiences with Reading Partners, a children's literacy organization, where I tutored a young boy named Kevin. With schools closed, jobs lost and virus infection rates rising, I hope that support for the Greater Chicago Food Depository will provide food security for those who need it most.” If you’d like to support her in this journey, you can donate to Felisa’s GoFundMe campaign at https://gf.me/u/zbjk2s . If you’d like info on a business ad sponsorship, please email her at felisawiley@gmail.com ARTS + ENTERTAINMENT CHARITY DUPAGE KANE KENDALL
