SO MUCH IS BLOSSOMING AT THESE AREA RESTAURANTS In May we recognize and honor our Mother’s and enjoy all that the spring season brings with brunches and new restaurants. 
 
 Whether you are in Geneva or Naperville, Buttermilk Cafe is serving up fresh Mimosas with breakfast and dishes ranging from the fluffiest Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, savory omelets and healthy Quinoa Bowl to traditional sandwiches.  Buttermilk Café’s coffee bar program showcases classic espresso inspired beverages hot or cold; in addition, they offer a variety of unique, traditional and craft alcoholic beverages. 
 
 The Hen House in Wheaton is a breakfast lunch restaurant focusing on a more decadent but healthy alternative to your average breakfast lunch restaurants offering unique Mimosas with variations including a signature apple cider mimosa, as well as Bloody Mary’s.  Beverages are also available for pickup because as they say, ‘brunch without bubbly is just a sad breakfast’. 
 
 Or perhaps, do a little something different this Mother’s Day and take mom to Millhurst Charhouse in Oakbrook Terrace for an immersive mystery experience full of twists and turns on May 16th from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  A murder will occur, and your sleuthing skills will be put to the test as you work to determine whodunnit. Work together to examine clues and mingle with suspects to deduce the culprit as you dine on a killer three-course meal. 
 
 Try something new this month at Makon Authentic Central Asian Cuisine in Downers Grove newly open and serving Uzbek and Central Asian traditions such as soups, noodles, hot snacks, dishes, and kebabs.  
 
 Also new in town is Rejoice in Geneva -  a group of health, fitness and nutrition experts bringing affordable, healthy options to the community.  This new plant-based restaurant focuses on hearty, sustainable and locally sourced dining for the person looking for a truly healthy, fine dining experience in a casual and family friendly setting. The Balmoral Restaurant in Campton Hills , owned by Colin Smith, is modeled after the dining halls of Balmoral Castel in Scotland right down to the place settings of golden cutlery, fine crystal, and banded dinnerware depicting scenes of Scottish flora and landscapes.  Located at 116 South Main Street, in the heart of downtown Lombard is the simplest of all types of home architecture and the most distinctive, a white Colonial style house.  Known as The Alice Gray House by the Lombard Historical Society ,  this home is now ROSEMARY and JEANS, a locally owned and operated, family-friendly, new restaurant serving menu items with ingredients that strive to be locally sourced and only natural. CELEBRATE ALL THINGS ♥ LOVE ♥ THIS MONTH This month brings cold weather, open fires, and best of all - romantic dinners throughout the western suburbs. A special Fall in to Love Wine Dinner event will be held on February 11 at  FoxFire in Genev a.  5 Lovely Wines paired with 5 courses.  Take a ride down a couple’s journey through the words of wine. Wines including, Result of a Crush, Touchy-Feely, and Primal Scream will be served with a select dinner menu. Enjoy a Victorian Valentine Dinner on February 14 at the Pinecone Cottage in Downers Grove .  The four course meal will consist of Potato-Leek Soup; Strawberry, Chevre, Fennel and Orange Vinaigrette Salad; an entrée of your choosing served with Wild Mushroom Potato Gratin, and Braised Baby Vegetables, and a dessert selection. A family-style dinner including stuffed mushrooms, classic bruschetta, chopped salad, baked rigatoni, meatballs, ravioli with pesto alfredo and chicken picatta followed by tiramisu and apple crostada will be served during game show and trivia night where everyone plays at the same time! Here are a few of our favorites–  Named one of the top 100 restaurants in America, Naperville now is home to Shakou Restaurant. The Shakou Vibe is known for stylish decor, delectable cuisine and exquisite service bringing the city life close to home.  Award winning Chef Sang Choi has constructed an eclectic menu fostering only the freshest ingredients with unique options including a sushi bar, bento boxes, Signature Maki, and traditional dinner choices.  Also new to town is Godavari Naperville, a fine dining restaurant built to serve top notch Indian Food to the very urban needs of Chicago's biggest suburb.  Highlights include Halal food served in the dining room or catered to your home or special event.  The restaurant also features two banquet halls which can host nearly 200 people.  Taste local craft beer and boutique wines while passing the Charcuterie at FoxFire on State Street in Geneva on September 7th, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their Hopp on the Vine event. Join Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton for a Spanish Wine Dinner evening including dinner paired with various Spanish wines and live music on Thursday, September 19th at 6 p.m. in the Ballroom.
