AURORA POLICE ARREST AND CHARGE FATHER FOR ABUSING 2-MONTH-OLD INFANT Aurora Police have arrested and charged a 27-year-old man after a child abuse investigation. The investigation revealed the arrestee battered and caused injuries, some being serious, to his 2-month-old daughter. On January 10, 2021 at 4:20 a.m. the Aurora Police and Aurora Fire Paramedics responded to 700 Block of North Avenue on the city’s east side, after receiving a 911 call regarding an infant in need of medical care. Upon arrival, officers located the 2-month-old female victim and observed that she was bleeding from her mouth and had obvious swelling developing to her face and head. The infant’s parents were both located at the residence and gave statements as to what had occurred. The infant was initially transported to a local hospital for care but was later airlifted to an area trauma center in serious condition. Detectives from the Aurora Police Department began to investigate the case immediately and conducted numerous interviews with those involved. During the investigation, detectives learned that 27-year-old Brian M. Clemente, of the 700 block of North Avenue in Aurora, had intentionally caused the injuries to his daughter. Clemente was taken into custody by Aurora Police without incident. The case was presented to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office who authorized the following charges against Brian Clemente: • Aggravated Battery to a Child Class X Felony
 • Aggravated Domestic Battery Class 2 Felony The 2-month-old victim in this case remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition suffering from multiple injuries to her body, including bleeding on her brain. Brian Clemente appeared at Kane County bond court on January 13th and his bond was set at $1,000,000 10% by Judge Michael Noland. Charges are not proof of guilt. The defendant listed in this release is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial, at which it is the burden of the State to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
