April 2013 - THE SKIES THE LIMIT I’m always looking for unique things to do on days off of school. Places that will entertain the kids from the time we arrive until the time we leave with no complaining in between. I typically search a one hour radius from my Naperville home and in this case, it led me straight back to near my original hometown of Chicago Heights. I was able to meet up with a childhood friend, show my kids where I grew up, as well as find a fantastic new play place that literally entertained the kids for hours and hours; where only the sky was literally the limited to the fun. I splurged on the JAK’s Ride Plus Unlimited Play Band to ensure plenty of chat time with my childhood friend and it was well worth every penny of the plus price. You see, although I am frugal by nature, I do find value in unique activities that provide experiences. Sometimes those experiences include helping a child overcome a fear of heights - as in this case. The Sky Trail is incredibly awesome. It is a 4-story climbing and ropes course that allows you to swing through the air and have a bird’s eye view of the entire facility. It features multilevel platforms that allow guests to try different ropes skills. This is a perfect attraction for all ages, and they even have a Mini Sky Trail for the younger guests who may have difficulty on the larger course. My one daughter, who will remain nameless, struggled with getting off the ground, but after encouragement by her more daring friends and sister, as well as one-on-one support from a heartfelt JAK’S employee –she made her way to the top tier of the trail and left feeling on top of the world. I think that’s one of those moments where you say…”priceless”. Having the unlimited band gave so many options for favorites like go-karting, bumper cars, glow in the dark golf, the laser maze - where we felt like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, and the ballocity – a tower filled with balls and cannons to blast the balls throughout the structure. This place is great for all ages from the preschoolers to teens to adults; because who doesn’t love the thrill of reaching for the skies?!
