April 2009 - INDOOR PARK In the colder months and sometimes in the heat of summer, you may be looking to escape to indoor playgrounds. There is so much to do within the LaGrange Park District, so much that I purchased an annual non-resident pass for my family. From southwest Naperville, it takes me 30 minutes to get the park. Sometimes it takes me that long to get to the other side of Naperville. Worth the drive – yes! The park district basically opened a new facility and with wonderful planning decided to put an outdoor park, inside a building. As Junie B. Jones would say, Wowsie, wow, wow, wow! There is freedom to roam, run, jump, climb, and play games. To create a mental image for you, close your eyes and picture your local park, eliminate the swings, add some padded groundwork, enclose it in a spacious and bright room, and there you have it! There is a mini-rock wall, triple slide, double slide, roller slide, tunnels, ladders, walking bridge, monkey bars, and a vertical bike. There are bathrooms and drinking fountains inside the playground room to offer convenience. The building offers tables and chairs if you want to bring some snacks along. Also inside this new facility is an enormous gymnasium and walking track. The front desk checks out basketballs in exchange for your I.D. One time while we were there, they also had a toddler gym setup that had scooters, carts, tunnels, balance beams, bean bag toss games, mini-basketball hoops, a mini roller coaster, and an obstacle course. This particular day, we stayed for three hours and I believe I mastered the art of wearing out 5 children under the age of 9! Just give me a great pat on the back because that is not an easy accomplishment! The Park District of LaGrange is located at 536 East Avenue, LaGrange, IL 60525. Phone number is 708-352-1762. Website is www.pdlg.org. Hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-8:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm, Sunday, 11:00am-4:00pm. Indoor Playground admission is $5/child (ages 3-12). Under 3 and Adults are free. Parking is also free. The non-resident Family Pass is $68/year. #GlancerMagazine #KristenKucharski #MomsLittleBlackBook #MBBPlaygroundsPlayscapes #MBBSportsRecreation #KidsTeens #April2009 #FeaturedBlogger #FeaturedBlog
