VOTE TODAY | Two Local Girls Compete in the Michael Bublé's "Higher" Dance Competition Online

THEY MADE IT TO TOP 10! VOTES NEEDED TO SECURE A SPOT IN THE TOP 5 – RESIDENTS CAN VOTE DAILY

GRAND PRIZE INCLUDES DANCE LESSONS FROM DEREK HOUGH, A TRIP TO DISNEYLAND AND MORE

KANELAND–Two local girls from the Kaneland area are competing in the Michael Bublé's "Higher" Dance Competition online for a chance to win a trip to LA with dance lessons from Derek Hough, Dancing with the Stars tickets, a trip to Disneyland and more.

They were ranking at #14 from close to 400 entries and made it to the Top 10 on Wednesday, which was a huge achievement, gaining votes down to the wire at midnight on Tuesday. Now, they need to earn a spot in the Top #5 for a chance to meet with Michael Buble and Derek Hough– how amazing would that be!

Our excitement continues for these two local dancers and we can't wait to see where this journey leads them. We are encouraging our readers to watch their video and vote for them today AND tomorrow - Thursday and Friday (see link below). Then, share with hashtag #MBHigherDance. Voting for the Top 5 ends at 6pm on Friday November 4

The contest invites dancers to send in a video of their choreographed dance to Michael Bublé's new song, 'Higher’, showcasing their moves. They noted "No matter the skill level, or age, we want to see it!" Dancers needed to submit their entry by October 13 for a chance to win a dancer's dream trip to LA.

The grand prize winner will receive:

  • 4 Round trip airline tickets to Los Angeles

  • Hotel and ground transportation accommodations for 4

  • A private dance lesson with Derek Hough

  • 4 tickets to the Dancing with the Stars season finale on November 21, 2022

  • A one-on-one video call with Michael Bublé

  • 4 Disneyland tickets

  • A Michael Bublé ‘Higher’ merchandise prize pack

Sugar Grove, IL resident Brianna Michi, a 2021 Kaneland High School graduate, and Elburn, IL resident Brooklyn Brown, a freshman at Kaneland High School, choreographed an amazing dance and have earned a spot in the top 10. Now, they need to secure their spot in the top 5 and this can be done by gaining enough votes. Both girls have shared that they are aspiring to be professional dancers and winning this challenge would "mean so much to each of them, helping them achieve a lifelong dream".

Their entry reads as follows:

"Hi Michael and Derek! We are incredibly grateful to have this opportunity. This entry is done by Brianna Michi and Brooklyn Brown. We spent countless hours perfecting and filming our routine to our favorite song Higher. We are both working to be professional dancers, and would love the chance to take a trip to LA, class from the one and only Derek, and of course tickets to our favorite show! Not to mention we love Michael, and dancing to his music. It would be a dream to have the opportunity to talk with him on a call. Dance is our passion, and we had so much fun creating this piece."
