DESIGNERS & CO-FOUNDERS OF PARK & OAK DESIGN OPEN THE PARLOUR
GLEN ELLYN–Local residents Christina Samatas (Wheaton) and Renee DiSanto (Glen Ellyn) recently opened The Parlour and the expansion of Park & Oak Collected after successfully running Park & Oak Design in Glen Ellyn since 2015.
Following the trending market to host events in cozy, intimate spaces that are inviting and personal, The Parlour invites the community to gather and feel welcomed for a quick cocktail and conversation, or a special event like a birthday celebration or graduation. Guests can also browse decor and gather inspiration for their own homes throughout the space.
“One of the great joys of our lives has been working with families to create timeless and classic homes that are a true reflection of themselves,” Renee says. “It occurred to us along the way that we wanted to welcome friends, family and clients into a place that felt like one of our own homes, a curated experience that would bring our portfolio to life. So that’s how the idea of The Parlour at Park & Oak was born.”
Historically, the parlour is the room in a home dedicated to entertainment and conversation. To stay true to their interior design roots, they felt this was an obvious choice name for their new space. Their showroom is broken up into different areas of the home, each specifically tailored to exhibit the design concepts they feel most passionate about.
Boasting a unique menu of flavorful cocktails, Renee loves them all but her go-to is their specialty drink with pear, champagne and elderflower that has a light crisp flavor perfect for the summer.
Christina and Renee are known in the community for creating homes that are visually stunning, yet functional and comfortable. Their work, rooted in the art of timeless style, is driven by the belief that design can be used to create feelings of comfort and happiness. It combines the best of their individual aesthetics for a unique look and this is easily translated to The Parlour!
