KEYNOTE SPEAKERS ANNOUNCED
Hundreds of children’s booklovers, educators and authors are expected on Saturday, February 26, for a morning of literature and learning. Anderson’s 20th Annual Children’s Literature Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bobak’s Signature Events, 6440 Double Eagle Dr. in Woodridge. The cost for the entire morning is $65 and includes a full breakfast. Advance registration is necessary. Due to the current health crisis, proof of vaccine is required. The event opens at 7:15 am with programming beginning promptly at 8:00 am. The autographing session follows at 12:00 noon, at the conclusion of the Children's Literature Breakfast.
Attendees will have an opportunity to meet celebrated children’s authors, including dozens from Illinois. This is the perfect event for picture book through Young Adult enthusiasts. Guests will enjoy a full buffet breakfast while authors and illustrators circulate among the tables for in-person discussion. Keynote speakers will present talks and those authors’ names will be announced throughout the lead-up to this special annual event. Giveaways, raffles and a pop-up bookstore will add fun surprises. Educators will earn continuing education hours for their attendance. Anderson’s Bookshops’ popular illustrated chair raffle will return.
COVID protocols will include a proof of vaccination requirement to attend and all attendees must be masked when not eating or drinking.
More announcements are forthcoming, but thus far, Peter H. Reynolds is the first 20th Annual Anderson’s Bookshop Children’s Literature Breakfast keynote speaker.
Peter H. Reynolds is an accomplished writer, storyteller and illustrator who has been acclaimed around the globe for his best-selling “stories for all ages” about protecting and nurturing the creative spirit, including the three books in his “Creatrilogy” - The Dot, Ish and Sky Color. Reynolds was born in Canada.
Reynolds is the author and illustrator of many books for children, parents and educators alike, including Happy Dreamer and the New York Times bestseller The Word Collector. His books have been translated into over 25 languages around the globe and are celebrated worldwide. In 1996, he founded FableVision with his identical twin brother, Paul, as a social change agency to help create “stories that matter, stories that move.” He lives in Dedham, Massachusetts, with his family.
Reynolds enjoys in-person and virtual speaking engagements all over the world, championing “off the path” learning, everyday creativity, and inspiring children and “grown up” children to lead successful and meaningful lives.
At the February Anderson’s Bookshop Breakfast, Reynolds will celebrate his new children’s book, Love You by Heart, his whimsical and charming expression of love with humor, tenderness, and heart.
