MONEY MAGAZINE | Naperville Ranks Among 'The 10 Best Places to Live if You Work From Home'

ANOTHER FUN RANKING FOR THE CITY OF NAPERVILLE

Earlier this week, Money ranked Naperville No. 3 on their "10 Best Places to Live If You Work from Home" list and we couldn't agree more.

The magazine looked at places with populations above 25,000, to ensure a mix of small, medium, and large cities. They eliminated any location that had more than double the national crime rate, less than 85% of its state’s median household income or a lack of racial diversity, as determined by Synergos Technologies Inc.’s statistical analysis of FBI and Census data. Using home prices from Attom Data, they then eliminated locations with a median sale price that exceeded $615,000, to avoid suggesting overly expensive places relative to the rest of the country.

That left 1,720 contenders. Next, to pick the winners, they crunched 157,000 data points, provided by the magazine's research partner Witlytic. For each place they considered: cost of living, quality of life, mental and physical health factors, diversity, amenities, education, housing market, and economic health.

They also put great weight on at-home convenience, like access to high-speed internet, room-to-person ratios, and heating and cooling comfort. They also focused access to facilities like daycares, pharmacies, and parks.

How fun is that?

Naperville was the only Illinois city that ranked on this trending list. Other U.S. cities that made the list include Cedar Park, Texas; Portland, Oregon; Parker, Colorado and Ann Harbor, Michigan. Naperville ranked No. 45 on Money's 2019 'Best Places to Live' list.
