LISLE | Western Michigan University Student from Lisle Killed in Hit and Run Crash, GoFundMe Set Up

KAYLEE GANSBERG WAS KILLED BY A DRUNK DRIVER WHILE ATTENDING COLLEGE IN MICHIGAN

LISLE–The Lisle community is mourning the loss of one of their residents. In the early morning hours on August 27 Kaylee Gansberg was struck near campus by a drunk driver. She was attending Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI.

Gansberg graduated from Lisle High School in 2019. The district released a statement that said, in part, "Kaylee was a vibrant part of our school community from elementary through high school. Those who had the privilege of meeting Kaylee know the impact she had on those around her."

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Kaylee's family, raising over $30,000 as of Tuesday morning. It reads, in part, "Kaylee Ann was a shining star — she set the world on fire and her bright light always shone through. She was a young, charismatic girl with so much life to live, places to see, and dreams to accomplish. The world is a little less bright without her in it, especially for her family, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to have met her.

Lisle residents are coming together to honor Kaylee's life by displaying wide, white ribbons throughout the community. Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 4 in Downers Grove. Read the Full Story at ABC-7 Chicago
