INFANT DEATH IN ELBURN | Tragic Death Has Been Ruled a Homicide, Investigation Underway



THE POLICE HAVE SHARED THAT THERE IS NO DANGER TO THE PUBLIC AT THIS TIME

The Elburn Police Department released an official statement regrading the death of a two-month old. It reads as follows:


On Friday July 30, 2021 the Elburn Police Department was dispatched to an address in the 800 block of Kindberg Court along with paramedics for a report of an infant with difficulty breathing at approximately 7:33am. Upon arrival the officers found the paramedics already on scene treating the infant, the infant was trasported to Delnor Hospital by The Elburn & Countryside Fire Protection District paramedics at that time.


Elburn Police were notified at approximately 10:54am that the infant had been transferred from Delnor Hospital to Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago.


Elburn Police department requested the assistance of the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force to assist in the investigation of this case. Members of the Elburn Police Department and the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force began the investigation of this case. The infant died at Lurie Children's Hospital on August 1, 2021 and the Cook County Medical Examiners Office completed an autopsy on August 3, 2021 and listed the cause of death as Homicide. There is no danger to the public at this time. The deceased subject is identified as Kasen Kaitharath (two months old).


This is an open and active investigation.
