GLEN ELLYN | Retirement of Canine Madden from the Glen Ellyn Police Department

Retirement of Canine Madden

CANINE ASSISTED GLEN ELLYN POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR 10 YEARS

After 10 years of service to the Glen Ellyn Police Department and Village of Glen Ellyn, Canine Madden has retired from service and was honored at the Monday, June 26 Village Board Meeting.

In November 2014, the Police Department initiated its canine program with a canine, Madden, who was immediately assigned to Task Force Officer Tony Terranova at the Drug Enforcement Administration. Canine Madden and Terranova recently completed the assignment after approximately 8½ years of working together. The canine program proved to be an overall successful endeavor for the Department as Canine Madden was responsible for the seizure of hundreds of pounds of illicit drugs and over $20,000,000 in drug proceeds.
