GLANCING THE GALLANT | Plainfield Elementary School Teacher Sews Masks for COVID-19 Caretakers

MEET ANN PETERS OF PLAINFIELD

With the COVID-19 public health crisis continuing to escalate, Ann learned from her niece Sarah, a nurse at the University of Chicago Medicine, that they were seeking donations of homemade masks. This inspired Ann to look for directions and the materials she needed to complete the task. As an elementary school teacher at Walker’s Grove Elementary School in Plainfield, Ann is used to helping others and wanted to give back to everyone who is front line of this fight; so, she sewed 35 masks to donate directly to her niece and fellow nurses in the NICU at Comer Children's Hospital at University of Chicago.
