$15,000 Raised of $24,000 Goal in Memory of Christina and Damien Chavira
GENEVA–In a heartbreaking incident in Geneva, Illinois, Christina Chivara and her 13-year-old son, Damien, were fatally stabbed in what authorities have described as a domestic violence incident. The suspect, Alejandro Cota, has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder. The tragic event unfolded on Thursday night in the 2700 block of Emma's Way. The victims were transported to area hospitals, where they were pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
To support the family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Rose Santeler. The fundraiser aims to cover funeral and memorial costs, travel expenses for court, and establish a trust for Christina's surviving daughter. As of now, the campaign has raised over $15,000 towards its $24,000 goal, with contributions from over 300 donors. The funds will directly benefit Christina's mother, helping the family navigate this challenging period.
