DINING DELIGHTS | Favorite Establishments to Add to Your List for a "Someday Visit"

SO MUCH IS BLOSSOMING AT THESE AREA RESTAURANTS

In May we recognize and honor our Mother’s and enjoy all that the spring season brings with brunches and new restaurants. Whether you are in Geneva or Naperville, Buttermilk Cafe is serving up fresh Mimosas with breakfast and dishes ranging from the fluffiest Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, savory omelets and healthy Quinoa Bowl to traditional sandwiches. Buttermilk Café’s coffee bar program showcases classic espresso inspired beverages hot or cold; in addition, they offer a variety of unique, traditional and craft alcoholic beverages. The Hen House in Wheaton is a breakfast lunch restaurant focusing on a more decadent but healthy alternative to your average breakfast lunch restaurants offering unique Mimosas with variations including a signature apple cider mimosa, as well as Bloody Mary’s. Beverages are also available for pickup because as they say, ‘brunch without bubbly is just a sad breakfast’.

Or perhaps, do a little something different this Mother’s Day and take mom to Millhurst Charhouse in Oakbrook Terrace for an immersive mystery experience full of twists and turns on May 16th from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A murder will occur, and your sleuthing skills will be put to the test as you work to determine whodunnit. Work together to examine clues and mingle with suspects to deduce the culprit as you dine on a killer three-course meal. Try something new this month at Makon Authentic Central Asian Cuisine in Downers Grove newly open and serving Uzbek and Central Asian traditions such as soups, noodles, hot snacks, dishes, and kebabs. Also new in town is Rejoice in Geneva - a group of health, fitness and nutrition experts bringing affordable, healthy options to the community. This new plant-based restaurant focuses on hearty, sustainable and locally sourced dining for the person looking for a truly healthy, fine dining experience in a casual and family friendly setting. Grab and go and dine in options available. –Kristen Kucharski
