LOCAL ENTREPRENEUR SHARES ABOUT HER UNIQUE SHOP & WHY IT'S A DREAM COME TRUE
ST. CHARLES–It always starts with a dream and that was the case for Mandy, a seasoned nurse and t-shirt business owner, who longed for a brick and mortar storefront that represented something she was passionate about.
Having lived in St. Charles with her husband Troy of 28 years and having graduated their three children from St. Charles North High School, Mandy knew the community longed for fellowship and dreamed that Magnolia would be that for many.
“.......and it has been! It is SO MUCH more than soap,” Mandy says. “We have been able to submerge ourselves in St. Charles and give back to so many charities and organizations because of the amazing support and customer base.”
As the owner and operator of Magnolia Soap and Bath Company in St. Charles, Mandy makes all of her products in house, in front of customers; also offering workshops, parties and girls' night out functions.
“We love sharing our space with our community that has supported us so well,” she shares. “We are all plant-based. We use very limited ingredients in our products. Our soaps are very eye-catching, colored with our bright mica powders. We offer both essential oil and fragrance products. Our fragrances are all phthalate and paraben free. Most products have organic shea butter, which is extremely hydrating.”
One of Mandy’s favorite things about owning Magnolia is her local community involvement and monthly "Hope in Soap" program that donates proceeds to a designated charity for a specific soap yearround.
