Gnome Globes at Morton Arboretum LISLE–After taking a hike through the Children’s Garden to hunt for all of the hiding gnomes, create a keepsake, gnome globe of your own. This unique winter experience held through December 30th is fun for a pair or the whole family! Purchase tickets in Visitor Center. Saturdays and Sundays in December, 11am-2pm. Zoo Year’s Eve at Brookfield Zoo NAPERVILLE–This New Year’s Eve, Brookfield Zoo invites families and friends to ring in 2019 at the annual Zoo Year’s Eve Celebration. Zoogoers can delight in Chicago’s longest-running lights festival, as well as a packed schedule of live entertainment and holiday-themed activities and attractions.A live DJ sets the party tone in the Holly Jolly Theater with music, fun games, party favors, prizes and more. www.czs.org/Brookfield-ZOO/

Tween Night • December 14 Batavia’s Eastside Community Center For Kids in Grades 5-6: Come enjoy games, sports, music, movies, dancing, food and more! This is a great opportunity to hang out with old friends and meet new kids from other schools. Concessions will be available for an additional fee. Drop-ins are also permitted. Geneva Christmas Walk GENEVA–On Friday evening Santa Lucia arrives and Santa makes his Geneva debut brought by horse-drawn carriage to open his Gingerbread House. Enjoy carolers, the Great Tree lighting, roasted chestnuts, Swedish cookies, an old-fashioned candy cane pull, and holiday shopping. A fun family event held annually downtown Geneva. Don’t forget your camera!
