NAPERLIGHTS 2018 | Holiday Lights Returns to Naper Settlement

SUNRISE ROTARY DISPLAY FEATURES AREAS LARGEST HOLIDAY TREE AT NAPER SETTLEMENT

In its 6th year in Downtown Naperville, Naperville Sunrise Rotary’s NaperLights holiday display will make the season even brighter as it joins with Naper Settlement and Christkindlmarket for what promises to be another festive and bustling holiday. The light display, a gift to the community from the Rotary Club of Naperville Sunrise, will feature a growing collection of giant lighted holiday figures including new Illuminated Ice Skaters and large animated displays of Elves and Children building a Giant Snowman.

Like the Grinch’s heart, the Giant Holiday Tree has grown to 38 feet, making it arguably the largest holiday tree on display in DuPage County. The popular polar bears and sleigh on loan from Brookfield Zoo make the perfect backdrop for holiday photos. Also returning this year is a holiday light display set to music. Area music groups will offer occasional evenings of choral music throughout the displays run.

NaperLights will be illuminated November 23-December 23, with hours from 4:00-7 pm on Thursdays, 4:00-9 pm Fridays through Saturdays and 4:00-6 pm on Sunday. Special Christmas Week hours are 4:00-8 pm December 17-19. Free-will donations to support Naperville Sunrise Rotary local and international charitable projects are welcomed.

In addition to Naperlights, Naper Settlement will once again host Christkindlmarket, a traditional European open-air holiday market featuring ornaments, gifts and décor, food, music and traditional mulled wine. Visit napersettlement.org for more details. Admission to Christkindlmarket and NaperLights is free. Parking is available in three municipal lots in Downtown Naperville as well as after hours at the Municipal Center parking lot. Naper Lights is produced, in part by a City of Naperville Special Events and Cultural Amenities Grant. Additional Sponsors include Gerald Subaru, Power Forward DuPage, Source Books, Klein Hall, Century 21 Affiliated Ryan Hill Group, Wells Fargo Advisors, Lisle Savings Bank, Franklin Partners, Michael Bond, DDS, Naperville Bank & Trust, West Suburban Bank, Charles Vincent George Architects, Dogtopia, Edelweiss Snow Plowing and the William Thompson Family.

Some 208,000 people attended over the four-weeks of the display last season. "We are excited to be partnering on the grounds of Naper Settlement with Christkindlmarket. It is a perfect marriage with the festive light display creating a beautiful atmosphere and drawing people from throughout the region to enjoy all that Downtown Naperville has to offer,” says NaperLights Co-Chair Scott Amundsen. “Sunrise Rotary plans to bring a spectacle that celebrates the community spirit of giving and has become a Naperville tradition.”
