LOCAL PROGRESS | Tollway Board Approves Agreement for IL Route 47/1-88 Interchange Project

2019 GROWTH PLANS EXCITE SUGAR GROVE RESIDENTS

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, the Illinois Tollway Board of Directors approved a multi-party intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Sugar Grove, Kane County and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) authorizing the financing and construction of the interchange project at Illinois Route 47 on the Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88).

The $25 million interchange project will realign existing ramps and build new ramps to create a new, full-access interchange, creating greater access into the Sugar Grove community and supporting economic development opportunities along Route 47. The project will also include rehabilitation of the existing Route 47 Bridge over I-88.

Construction is expected to begin in 2019, with completion expected by the end of the year.
