COMMUNITY NEWS | Witness Statements Needed In Fatal Traffic Crash Investigation

FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH UPDATE AND REQUEST FOR WITNESS STATEMENTS BY NAPERVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Naperville Police are requesting that any witnesses to Friday night’s fatal crash at the intersection of Aurora Avenue and Fort Hill Drive come forward to speak with officers, who continue to investigate.

On Friday, June 29, 2018, at approximately 10:42 p.m., the Naperville Police and Naperville Fire Departments responded to Aurora Avenue and Fort Hill Drive for a vehicle crash involving a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 26-year-old David Casas-Garcia of Aurora and a Honda Civic driven by a 70-year-old man from Naperville.

The initial investigation indicates that Casas-Garcia was traveling westbound on Aurora Avenue approaching Fort Hill Drive when the driver of the Civic, who was in the left turn lane of eastbound Aurora Avenue, turned left in front of Casas-Garcia. David Casas-Garcia and his passenger, 16-year-old Najeli Casas of Aurora, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The case remains under investigation, and police have been made aware there may have been several additional drivers in the area who may have witnessed the crash. Anyone who saw this collision is asked to call the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at (630) 420-8833.
