SAVORY & SWEET SISTERS | Allgauer's

SCINTILLATING SUNDAY BRUNCH Located inside the Hilton of Lisle, Allgauer’s Chef Nick Landeweer has been creating culinary masterpieces for over 25 years. He recently unveiled a new menu while keeping the favorites guests have been enjoying for years. Allgauer’s is known for quality cuisine and exceptional service. With Mother’s Day coming up we decided to indulge in their award-winning champagne Sunday brunch.

While we have always enjoyed a nice Sunday Brunch, this one was unlike any other. Greeted by restaurant supervisor Shari Landeweer, we were shown to our seats by the window, overlooking the tree-lined lake. What a beautiful view and a warm first impression. Our delightful server, Mario, was attentive and friendly and kept the champagne filled at all times.

The brunch boasts over 100 items including a carving station, a Belgium waffle station and made-to-order omelet station. The set up was easy to get around and a wonderful sight. With in-house ice carvings, fruit sculptures, and oysters overflowing on a bed of ice, along with crab legs, we were quite impressed.

Starting with the cold dishes, we indulged and found that the strawberries and cream was a favorite by all. Such a simple treat but executed perfectly. The fresh salmon, cheese platters, ceviche, Spanish shrimp cocktail, Allgauer’s salad, shrimp in a light dill cream, bowtie seafood pasta and avocado mango salad were just a few of our favorites.

As we made our way through the room and tasted the warm dishes we couldn’t get over how well maintained it was. Each dish was fresh and filled promptly. Our waiter, Mario and staff kept our table clear and refilled orange juice, tea, and coffee as needed. This brunch was well orchestrated. Along with the typical breakfast items like eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy and French toast with strawberry compote, offerings included parmesan chicken with tomato vodka sauce, pork loin, and New York strip steak with a béarnaise sauce, many pastas and seafood dishes. There also were plenty of child-friendly food selections available.

We made sure to save some room for dessert, as they were just as impressive. Pastries, pies, mousse and many tasty sweet treats were surrounding a chocolate fountain for dipping. With so much to offer, along with great quality, we encourage you to try and taste everything at least once!
