SAVORY & SWEET SISTERS | Crosstown Pub & Grill

March 2017 – NAPERVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD FAVORITE Whether you’re looking for a place to get into March Madness or a friendly place to bring your family you have to make a stop in Naperville at a local neighborhood favorite Crosstown Pub & Grill! Jim Nichols opened up this one of a kind pub in 2007 and has been cooking up the best wings ever since. He opened his second location in Batavia two years ago to share his amazing wings further west. Why is it one of a kind? A great pub to watch the games, a friendly place to bring the family, the best servers and everything on the menu is superb.

Having been here many times before this time we were on a wing mission. Although we didn’t want to fill up on “smalls” or appetizers we couldn’t resist the delicious combo of the Papi’s Fritas. Crispy waffle fries are topped with bourbon grilled chicken, shredded Chihuahua cheese, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, avocado then drizzled with buffalo sour cream to make the perfect collaboration of flavors. Then on to the wings! Crosstown has a great selection with 3 wing types, 19 dry rubs, 21 sauces and 5 dressings for dipping. Wings come as large bone-in, breaded, naked or grilled and never frozen. Tenders are boneless 3oz. chicken breaded or grilled and the Buff-a-lopes are 2oz. boneless breaded chicken breast cutlets.

Our server, Mallory Mencinsky was a wing expert and not only helped us with so many questions about combos but also made some great recommendations. We loved the lemon pepper rub on the tenders and the Shut UP sauce on the side adds punch. For the grilled bone-in the jalapeno rub covered in the Sweet Habanero is definitely for those who like heat. The Buff-a-lopes were great with the Mesquite BBQ rub and then the Shut Up on the side for heat or the Sweet BBQ for a more mild taste.

Crosstown has a lot to offer from trivia, local craft beers, daily specials, a wing of the month, a dynamic American menu, and a friendly atmosphere all makes it a fun place for the family for lunch or dinner! While in Naperville let general manager, Dan Humenik take care of your family!
