In the air there's a feeling of Christmas. Children laughing, people passing. Meeting smile after smile.... ♪♫ As the holiday classic reminds us, soon it will be Christmas Day and so we invite you and yours to shop, dine, relax and unwind while strolling some festive west suburban city sidewalks. Here are a few of our favorites–

CITY SIDEWALK #1 Pennsylvania Avenue Downtown Glen Ellyn Featuring Holiday Stories With Santa & His Reindeer • Dec 12 Bring the whole family to Glen Ellyn's Fire Station #1 to have your picture taken with Santa and his live reindeer! 1pm-3pm 506 Pennsylvania Ave.

CITY SIDEWALK #2 Main Street In Downtown Naperville Featuring the Inaugural Holiday Cookie Walk • Dec 5 Sure to satisfy any sweet tooth, buy your tickets now to participate in this fun event from 11am to 3pm. Attendees with receive a commemorative souvenir Cookie Tin along with a map touring many Downtown Naperville shops and restaurants. You’ll end the afternoon with a tin full (2 dozen) of custom made (pre-wrapped) holiday cookies (one cookie, per entry, per stop). CITY SIDEWALK #3 Main Street In St. Charles Featuring Breakfast With Santa at Hotel Baker • Dec 13 The kids will enjoy dining with this holiday celebrity at historical Hotel Baker. Santa will also be there with Twinkles the Clown for face painting fun. Buffet style. First seating 8:30am last seating 11:30am. Reservations required: (630) 584-2100.

CITY SIDEWALK #4 Main Street In Sugar Grove Featuring Holiday In the Grove • Dec 5 This festive event will be making people smile all over town. This festive community event that includes Breakfast with Santa and many other holiday activities throughout the day was established to carry on the tradition of the Sugar Grove Community Christmas festival. Several community members have volunteered to step in the event is held entirely by volunteers. www.holidayinthegrove.org

CITY SIDEWALK #5 Main Street In Downers Grove Featuring the Gingerbread Man Hunt Keep your child busy while you shop! Have them find the Gingerbread Man at 14 participating downtown Downers Grove businesses. Once he is found, your child can claim a prize at Anderson’s Bookshop and again after he/she finds all 29! www.downtowndg.org

CITY SIDEWALK #6 The Community Trees Display at Cantigny Park In Wheaton • Through Dec 30 Seven local nonprofits, including the DuPage County Historical Museum Foundation, the Friends of Wheaton Public Library & the Ray Graham Association, have uniquely decorated trees on display. Each NFP is awarded a $2,500 grant from the Robert R. McCormick Foundation for participating. Vote and the winner will be awarded an additional $2,500. All participating organizations collect 100% of donations to their trees. www.cantigny.org

CITY SIDEWALK #7 Webster Street In Naperville Featuring the Jingle Bell Jamboree at Naper Settlement • Dec 19 Enter a world of holiday magic!. Bring the whole family and be charmed with live holiday music from Metea Valley High School; enjoy the sugar and spice of decorating cookies in Mrs. Claus’s Bakery; and more.
