MOM'S LITTLE BLACK BOOK | Michael's Craft Events | December 2010

December 2010 - FREE CRAFT FUN!

They are known for their great 40% off coupons each week, and sometimes the lucky 50% off bonus coupons. They are known for scrapbooking supplies, crafts, beads, paints, yarn, dried flowers, and so much more. But did you know they also offer free or very low cost events almost every week, with daytime and evening options?

Our latest adventure brought us inside, as the weather has turned a bit colder this month. This activity provides us with a different option each month since the activities change based on the season or holiday. Most of the activities offered are free and sponsored by the associated manufacturer of the product, or the cost is typically under $5/project. You can plan in advance; a month’s worth of projects is listed on their website; just click on the link designated Classes & Events for complete details.

We recently went to a Bead Event. This was a free event held on a Sunday from 1-4pm. We were given the option of making a crystal & pearl ring, sea breeze necklace, and/or ribbon bookmarks. All of the supplies were provided for free and we made beautiful, wearable jewelry. The employee who assisted us was patient and kind. It was a fun time shared with my girls.

The projects vary from glow in the dark crafts, to sticky gooey projects, to cake decorating, mask making, make your own t-shirts, decorating pumpkins, cookie decorating, American Girl events, and the list goes on. The activities are open to all ages and can easily entertain a toddler to a senior citizen, as well as, both male and females; and of course, you can’t beat free or low cost entertainment!

In December you will be given the option to make a finger knit scarf, reindeer ornament, Duck Tape luggage tag, tree ornament, gift card holder and gift bag, button rings, and participate in last minute gift magic activity kits. December will also host cake decorating classes, art classes, and scrap book classes at 40% off regular price. Your imagination is your only limitation on these activities.
