ENJOY A RELAXING SATURDAY MORNING AROUND TOWN

Saturday mornings bring us such a sense of calm after a long week filled with the craziness of school, work, volunteering, family time and more. It’s our time to relax and unwind while glancing around town. Here’s what’s trending....


#1 | Pumpkin Patch & Corn Maze Fun!

OSWEGO–Enjoy weekend mornings on the farm at Keller's Farmstand in Oswego, through October. Open at 9am, this is a fall adventure that everyone will enjoy. Come for apple picking at one of Chicago's largest orchards or pick a pumpkin in our HUGE pumpkin patch. Explore the eight-acre corn maze, bring the kids to the Farmland playground and see the horses and animals. On weekends, theFarmstand has homemade donuts along with other unique food items. It's safe outdoor fun for the whole family!


#2 | Saturday Morning Shopping

GENEVA–Beautiful Geneva Commons is the perfect backdrop for a peaceful Saturday morning while out shopping, strolling, and enjoying the crisp morning air. Open at 10am on Saturday, shoppers can enjoy breakfast at The Corner Bakery or grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks, then head to Wiliam Sonoma for the latest in home decor and accessories before they enjoy selecting new fall trends at Apricot Lane or Francesca’s. Finish up the morning at with an early lunch and a glass of moscato at California Pizza Kitchen.



#3 | Aurora Farmer’s Market

AURORA–Saturdays in Downtown Aurora are headlined by fresh produce and fun at the Aurora Farmers Market, now in its 109th (2021) season! Every week, ther Market features fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, decadent baked goods and pastry items, a selection of local food trucks and vendors (including Aurora's famous Dick's Mini Donuts), delicious coffee, one-of-a-kind artisan items and more. Held Saturdays 8am-12pm through October 16 at Water Street Square directly across from City Hall.


#4 | Lattes at Cafe & Barr

GENEVA–If you love strolling the streets of downtown Geneva on a Saturday morning, you’ll also love the calm and inviting experience that Cafe & Barr provides for its guests. Their mission is to create a getaway for our community, and this quiant coffee shop does just that. Stop in for a latte today! Located on 3rd St at Dodson Place



#5 | A Fall Photo Session

MAPLE PARK–Fall is a beautiful time to be outside for a photo shoot! Reserve a fall session for your family and cherish your photos for years to come. KimberleeB Photography of Geneva will be hosting Fall Mini Sessions on Sunday October 10 in Maple Park complete with a vintage red truck. Other Fall mini Session dates are October 23 and 24. #6 | Sun Flower Festival

MAPLE PARK–Start your morning off surrounded by beauitiful sunflowers. Enjoy over 5 acres of sunflower varieties. The experience goes ‘full bloom’ on weekends with live music and delicious farm-fresh food options on the scenic orchard lawn. Mother Nature has final say on how long the sunflowers will last so watch for updates as we near the final weekend. Opening at 9am.


#7 | Wheaton French Market

WHEATON–Flowers, locally grown produce, jewelry, crafts and more are sold from 8am-2pm each Saturday through Nov. 27. The outdoor market is at Reber Street and Liberty Drive near Courthouse Square and the City’s Water Department facility.



#8 | An Outdoor Yoga Experience

NAPERVILLE–The Naperville Park District offers traditional yoga in beautiful spots such as the Interpretive Center at Seager Park, overlooking the peaceful woodlands or enjoy yoga at Fort Hill Activity Center, where many classes are included as part of a fitness membership. Yoga also takes place in other convenient locations including the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, the 95th Street Center and the Brooks Golf Academy Training Center at Springbrook Golf Course.


#9 | Weed Ladies Fall Sale • Sept 16-19

NAPERVILLE–For special floral arrangements and more, this special event is held 3x annually and loved by many. Opening at 10am at Naper Settlement, admission is free. Enter Naper Settlement at the Pre-Emption House main entrance and inform the Guest Services team that you are attending the sale. Parking is available in the Municipal Lot across the street, in Naper Settlement's visitor's lot (at the corner of Webster Street and Porter Avenue), or along Webster Street.


#10 | Nearby Apple Picking Fun

GENEVA–Looking for an Apple Orchard that’s close by? New this year is Windy Acres Apple Orchard Experience. Open weekends only beginning September 4-5, 11-12, 18-19, 25-26. No reservations are needed to visit. Apple U-Pick is limited this season as it is theirr grand opening and due to some crop failure, but you’ll enjoy the experience for sure!
