FRIDAYS IN JULY

Glen Ellyn Farmers Market • Who knew an ear of corn or fresh tomato could improve your health, your community and the environment, all at the same time? Buying local Glen Ellyn foods is a simple way to do all three. Local food doesn't suffer the "jet lag" of produce trucked across the country. SATURDAYS IN JULY

Wheaton’s French Market • Visit downtown Wheaton to find flowers, locally grown produce, jewelry, crafts and more from 8am-2pm each Saturday through November. The popular outdoor market will take place at Main Street and Liberty Drive in downtown Wheaton (just south of the railroad tracks). For information, contact Bensidoun USA at (630) 784-0862.

We Grow Dreams Garden Market • We Grow Dreams, a not-for-profit greenhouse and garden center will provide a wide variety of premium-quality plants and gardening accessories. The Garden Market will be held from 9am to 1pm every Saturday through October. Weekly specials will be posted at www.freedomcommons.com. Freedom Commons is located on Freedom Drive, north of Diehl Road and immediately south of the Naperville exits on I-88.

SUNDAYS IN JULY

Settlement Sundays • Enjoy a free ice cream sundae during Settlement Sundays at Naper Settlement. (Sundaes are not being served during the Naperville Woman's Club Art Fair on July 11.) Each Sunday, admission to the historic museum village not only includes free sundaes with do-it-yourself toppings, but also a variety of hands-on activities during the Settlement's open hours of 1 to 4 p.m. Play old-fashioned games, participate in sack races, tour the Victorian mansion, explore the homes and businesses, and try the Geocache hunts. $9 adults, $8 seniors 62+, $6.50 youths 4-17, Free for children 3 and under. SUNDAY, JULY 4
Wheaton’s Fourth of July 2010 "America the Beautiful" • Enjoy the 2010 Fourth of July parade & fireworks events. Fireworks will be held on the evening of July 3 at DuPage County Fairgrounds with viewing from Graf Park. The parade will be at noon on July 4th along Main Street downtown Wheaton.

Glen Ellyn July 4 Celebration
Get your partriotic on! Bring your family and friends for Glen Ellyn's favorite hometown tradition, the annual Fourth of July Celebration. The festivities begin on Saturday, July 3rd with spills and chills at the annual Glen Ellyn Cardboard Regatta and great food at the Picnic in the Park. On Sunday, July 4th, enjoy a full day of activities, including the Freedom Four ® Four-Mile Run, Glen Ellyn's 4th of July Parade, and Glen Ellyn's Fireworks.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY, July 16-17
July 16-17 • Wheaton Band Festival

The 2010 Wheaton Band Festival will present five free band concerts on the evenings of July 16 and 17 in Wheaton's Memorial Park, North Hale at West Seminary, in downtown Wheaton. The weekend festival will feature the Chicago Brass Band, the Fox Valley Concert Band and the Navy Band Great Lakes. Carl Grapentine of WFMT-FM is the festival announcer. The Friday concerts will start at 7:15 p.m. and the Saturday program begins at 6 p.m. mAn instrument petting zoo will be open for children, pre-school through grade school. THURSDAY, July 22
Cosley Zoo Uncorked
• Join us for a wild wine tasting experience from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.at Cosley Zoo in Wheaton. Enjoy wine and cheese sampling by Whole Foods Market, Hors d'oeuvres served by Arrowhead Restaurant, a raffle, giveaways and more! $30 per person or $50 per couple. SUNDAY, July 26
Sound of Music at Drury Lane

Chase away your blues with the Sisters of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary as they celebrate "Sounds of Music" at the Loretto Gala at Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace. Jazz up your day in the fun of the Silent Auction at 3p.m. Enjoy a classical dinner at 5:30 p.m. and rock'n roll with the Live Auction and Raffle afterward. Tickets are $80 each. Proceeds from the Loretto Gala help support the infirm and retired Sisters, the ministries of the Sisters in education, retreat work, spiritual direction, and work among the poor, disadvantaged and homeless.
