Flavorful olive oils, exquisite balsamic vinegars, delicious gourmet foods, fine Italian ceramics, potpourri, candles, and wines fulfill the cozy setting of Twisted Olive in Naperville. With homemade breads, sipping cups, and lounge chairs, the boutique is home to over 40 different olive oils, balsamic vinegars, and unique wines. "Our wines are hand-selected by Rob Lehner, our personal sommelier, who is highly educated and very knowledgeable," says store owner, Mary Shearer. "We host wine-tasting parties and education classes, as well as oil sampling parties." Shearer prides herself on being an active member of the community. "I live in Naperville and want to give back as much as possible to the community." She opens her doors before and after hours to nonprofit organizations, providing a place to host their meetings. The boutique gives her a chance to reach more people more often and offer healthier, more flavorful, and more satisfying dinner options. The oils and vinegars come from throughout the world and from private olive groves. The flavors include truffle, citrus, spicy, sesame, roasted walnut, butter, and more. All of the products can be made into gift baskets for clients and friends. Now open for fourteen months, the store sees new customers daily and has a committed loyal following already. "People appreciate good service and the word of mouth has been so good to us," Shearer says. "I have found a new passion in life and my family has given me endless support." -Kristen Kucharski
