Glancer Magazine Auctioning Off “You’ve Been Glanced
Superstar Package” at October 6th Volley For the Cure Event - All Proceeds Benefitting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation

NAPERVILLE - September 17, 2009 - Glancer Magazine, Inc., publisher of two local area community living magazines for Naperville and Wheaton/Glen Ellyn, will be auctioning off a “YOU’VE BEEN GLANCED Superstar Package” at this year’s Volley For the Cure event to be held Tuesday, October 6th.

Through this event, Naperville Central has teamed up with Wheaton Warrenville South to make October 6th a special night where they come together for a common cause: fighting breast cancer.  Plans are under way to fill the main gym at Naperville Central for an exciting night of volleyball action and an uplifting night of helping others. There will be a silent auction available and other fun activities. Glancer Magazine will be one of many local businesses and organizations that has donated to the silent auction to help raise money for this cause.

“It’s hard to find anyone that has not been affected by cancer in some way, and for our volleyball team to take on this cause and get behind it is something we are very proud of,” says Marty Bee, Athletic Director at Naperville Central.

The “YOU’VE BEEN GLANCED Super Star Package” includes a full feature story in the December 2009  Yearbook Issue written by a talented member of TEAM Glancer, complete with a photo shoot, 50 souvenir copies, a black magic marker for autograph signing and a framed keepsake. This fun and exciting silent auction item can make someone’s day in a variety of ways.  The highest bidder may choose to pay it forward and donate it to a charitable organization, use it to highlight a business that is really awesome, or even put a shout out to someone they love as a surprise for an anniversary, birthday, or even wedding proposal. Whatever the reason, more than 108,000 readers can’t wait to read about it in Naperville and Wheaton/Glen Ellyn this December. *This silent auction item is not recommended for the camera shy.

“The enthusiasm felt by TEAM Glancer and those on the receiving side when we get involved in unique programs like this makes me feel honored to be part of such an amazing community. I am pleased that we can use our voice to bring attention to critical causes such as breast cancer awareness and the fight against this horrible disease. After losing my mom to cancer when she was just 44, I know first-hand the devastation cancer inflicts on its patient and the never-ending sadness it leaves behind.  I urge everyone to get involved by attending this fun, and very impactful community event,” said Lindy Kleivo, Founding Publisher of Glancer Magazine.

Admission to the game is $10, all breast cancer survivors are FREE, along with anyone that buys a Volley for the Cure pink t-shirt available at Naperville Central. Players will be playing in honor of friends and family members that have been affected by breast cancer. The event begins at 5:00 PM in the Main Gym of Naperville Central High School, 440 Aurora Avenue, and there will be a silent auction, bake sale and other activities.  Many businesses are supporting the event with donated items and pink discounts for ticket holders! 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G Komen Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization. To donate an item, contact Ray Kinney, (630) 369-1360, or ray@naperprinting.com.
