Glancer Magazine Honored with the Naperville Area Humane Society’s 2008 Outstanding Media Partner of the Year Award

October 11, 2008 – Local community living magazine, Glancer Magazine, publisher of The Naperville Glancer and The Wheaton/Glen Ellyn Glancer was one of several area companies honored at the Naperville Area Humane Society’s Black Cat Ball, held October 10, 2008.

Over 300 animal lovers including business, government and community leaders attended the 6th annual event which took place at Meson Sabika Restaurant in Naperville. This year’s honorees included In-Play, Exelon Corp, Icon Digital Design & Illustration and The Naperville Glancer.

“We are so grateful to our community partners for everything they do to support local residents and to provide help when they are in need- and this includes our furry friends, too. The Naperville Humane Society has helped my family personally and I know it has helped so many others in many ways. Their services do not receive the recognition they deserve but I am happy to help whenever possible through our media voice. We are so appreciative of their efforts and happy to be their Outstanding Media Partner for 2008,” said Lindy Kleivo, Glancer Magazine founding publisher.

The Naperville Area Humane Society is a non-profit animal shelter accepting cats and dogs. The dedicated and highly trained staff and over 400 volunteers at NAHS offer compassionate care to each animal and work to match the needs of each pet with a family eager to adopt a dog or cat. NAHS offers basic vaccinations as well as medical care for all its animals. For more information about the Naperville Area Humane Society, visit www.NapervilleAreaHumaneSociety.org.
