Glancer Magazine to Launch 5th Community Living Magazine in the Hinsdale/Burr Ridge Area in May 2012
**Coverage Area: Hinsdale/Burr Ridge/Oak Brook**
WEST SUBURBAN CHICAGO– Community living magazine publisher, Glancer Magazine is expanding its current circulation to the Hinsdale, Illinois area with a combined focus on affluent single family homes in Burr Ridge & Oak Brook with a fifth monthly publication. The premiere issue will be available to area residents the first week of May 2012.
Hinsdale/Burr Ridge will be the fifth title published monthly by the suburban publishing company. It will join the communities of Naperville (rotating monthly circ. 50,000), Wheaton/Glen Ellyn (rotating monthly circ. 25,000), Downers Grove (rotating monthly circ. 20,000), Fox River Valley (rotating monthly circ. 13,000).
This magazine will have a hometown focus on the Hinsdale area and those who live, work and play there, with features also highlighting Burr Ridge and Oak Brook. Using its unique and creative format– targeting all demographics while its primary demographic will be household women– it will provide all types of businesses an opportunity to reach an expanded audience within the community whose residents enjoy the unparalleled west suburban shopping and dining experience. The publication will highlight each community using its unique themes from month to month.
Hinsdale is bordered to the south by Burr Ridge, a town with similar affluence. To the north lies Oak Brook, home of the Oak Brook Center shopping mall and numerous national headquarters, including McDonald's Corporation. The town is often referred to as the "epicenter" of the re-build phenomenon that has spread nationally, with more than 25% of its housing stock having been replaced with larger, newer homes (most valued in the millions of dollars range) since the mid to late 1980's. It has a rolling, wooded topography, with a quaint downtown that contains boutique shops and restaurants. Downtown Hinsdale offers many shopping and dining opportunities with popular retail stores and restaurants such as The Gap, Papyrus, Schoen's, Fuller's Hardware Store, Kramer's Grocery, The Corner Bakery, Cozi's, Zak's, Starbucks, Cold Stone Creamery and Jade Garden. Nearby are 2 shopping malls in Burr Ridge and Oak Brook.
The Burr Ridge Village Center is an upscale lifestyle center located in the village. It continues to draw numerous upscale retailers including: Ann Taylor, White House Black Market, Chico's , Victoria's Secret, New York & Company, The Kohler Store, Gymboree, Eddie Bauer , Banana Republic and many others. Currently, there are over 25 restaurants and stores at the mall.
Glancer Magazine will introduce the publication with a combined direct mailed circulation of 10,000 rotating between North & South parts of the community every other month using two mailing lists, while paid subscribers will receive the magazine monthly. The magazine will also be available on local newsstands. The unique and strategic distribution program allows all residents to sample the publication before they purchase a subscription, while providing ample reach to its advertisers.
Glancer Magazine will fill a niche in Hinsdale & Burr Ridge marketplace, as the area has remained steady in growth and prosperity the last few years. It will complement the efforts of the well-established downtown areas and the expanding shopping opportunities such as Oak Brook Promenade and more. DuPage County residents accomplishing extraordinary things will be featured from month to month, along with dining, wine and movie critiques, photos recapping events around town, charitable efforts, highlights of the business community and so much more.
“As our company enters its 11th year, there is simply no better way to celebrate than with a 5th title. We started distributing Glancer Magazine in January of 2006 following a title change from a former publication and we continue to receive an overwhelming response by the public. Glancer Magazine gives local businesses more exposure on an as-need basis and local residents a quick, at-a-glance view of their community every month,” said Lindy Kleivo, Founding Publisher and Editor. “We are very excited to introduce our award-winning concept to the Hinsdale/Burr Ridge area and look forward to meeting new faces along the way!” she added.
“Each issue truly is a community effort. It focuses on topics relating to residents of all ages – health & wellness, kids & education, home & garden, style & beauty, shopping & savings and so much more, making it the leading publication in the communities where it is currently distributed. Our readership is extremely diverse, resulting in a dense readership within a certain geographical area. Our publishing model is unique and remains unprecedented. We will introduce Glancer Magazine to the Hinsdale & Burr Ridge are with our beautiful Mother’s Day issue focusing on women,” she added.
Glancer Magazine, Hinsdale/Burr Ridge will be the fifth monthly title created and distributed by the local publisher and will premiere the first week of May 2012. This launch follows the successful debut of Glancer Magazine, Downers Grove which premiered one year ago this past January, and Glancer Magazine, Fox River Valley which premiered in May of last year.
