Glancer Magazine to Launch 3rd Community Living Magazine in Downers Grove, January 2011
NAPERVILLE- Community living magazine publisher, Glancer Magazine is expanding its current circulation to Downers Grove, Illinois with a third monthly publication. The premiere issue will be available to Downers Grove residents the first week of January 2011.
Downers Grove will be the third title published monthly by the suburban publishing company. It will join the communities of Naperville (monthly circ. 25,000) and also Wheaton/Glen Ellyn (monthly circ. 12,500). The magazine will be the first community living magazine to be published in Downers Grove using its unique and creative format to target all demographics, while its primary demographic will be household women. It will provide all types of businesses an opportunity to reach an expanded audience within the community whose residents enjoy the unparalleled Downers Grove shopping and dining experience.
The publishing company will introduce the publication with a direct mailed circulation of 12,500 monthly and will rotate between North & South parts of town every other month, while paid subscribers will receive the magazine monthly. The magazine will also be available on local newsstands. The unique and strategic distribution program allows all residents to sample the publication before they purchase a subscription.
Glancer Magazine will fill a niche in the Downers Grove marketplace, as the community has remained steady in growth and prosperity the last few years. It will compliment the efforts of the newly renovated downtown area and the expanding shopping opportunities. Ordinary Downers Grove residents accomplishing extraordinary things will be featured from month to month, along with dining, wine and movie critiques, photos recapping events around town, charitable efforts, highlights of the business community and so much more.
“We started distributing Glancer Magazine in June of 2005 following a title change from a former publication and we continue to receive an overwhelming response by the public. While there is a recent increase in affluent-only community magazines, these tend to operate under both editorial and ad placement restrictions. Glancer Magazine gives local businesses more exposure on an as-need basis and local residents a quick, at-a-glance view of their community every month,” said Lindy Kleivo, Founding Publisher and Editor.

It focuses on topics relating to residents of all ages – health & wellness, kids & education, home & garden, style & beauty, shopping & savings and so much more, making it the leading publication in the communities where it is currently distributed. Glancer Magazine, Downers Grove will be the third monthly title created and distributed by the local publisher and will premiere the first week of January 2011. Plans are currently underway for a launch party, where Glancer Magazine, its current supporters and members of the Downers Grove community will celebrate this special addition.
