In February, the publication began online polling for the 2009 Reader’s Choice Awards. Local area residents were encouraged to visit the company’s main website – http://www.glancermagazine.com/– and vote for their favorite local establishments. Categories included a favorite local charity, favorite annual event, favorite grocery store, favorite pizza place, favorite salon/spa, among several others. Those who took the survey were entered into a drawing to be chosen as Glancer Magazine’s 2009 Reader of the Year.
“We look forward to celebrating the winners at our Summer Celebration on July 14th at Jilly’s, west suburban’s hottest gathering place, where we will be unveiling the 2009 Reader of the Year. Special thanks to all of those who voted and also to Catch 35 and Jilly’s for sponsoring this year’s awards program,” Kleivo added.
The winners of the 20 categories were announced in the July issue themed “The Women of Summer,” scheduled to hit newsstands today, as women represent more than 78% of our monthly readership, they then share it with their households. There are different winners for each of the community titles printed.
The purpose of Glancer Magazine’s 2009 Reader’s Choice Awards is to give residents the opportunity to support all the local establishments they love. Winners will be awarded with the title of “2009 Reader’s Choice Award Winner” and the randomly-selected 2009 Reader of the Year will receive a $250 gift certificate to Catch 35 as well as 10 VIP passes to the Jilly’s event.
