BRAIN TRAINING: Advancing Special Needs Kids at Neuroconnection

Since 2001, The Neuroconnection has been successful improving the symptoms of those with autistic spectrum disorders (ASD) as well as children and adults diagnosed with attention deficit, anxiety, learning, mood, chronic fatigue, substance abuse, and post traumatic stress disorders.

The Neuroconnection staff are experts in advanced, research-based connectivity-guided neurofeedback, which trains specific regions of the brain. "Unlike neurofeedback in the past that trained power abnormalities at specific sites in the brain, connectivity-guided neurofeedback improves the brain's ability to communicate with itself within regions of the brain," says Ann Rigby, LCSW, BCN, and Director of The Neuroconnection (pictured above). "This is important because symptoms associated with autism and learning disabilities are caused in part from a deficiency in the neuropathways in certain regions of the brain. Using multiple normative databases and other ways of analyzing the QEEG data, we create a brain map. From this, we can view the way the brain is communicating with itself and develop the correct training protocols specific to the individual."

Training the brain with connectivity-guided neurofeedback can result in dramatic and lasting improvements in a wide range of neuropsychological conditions. It is a noninvasive, non-medication and painless intervention which enhances neuroregulation and improves the ability of the brain to function optimally. "It was life changing for my son, Ben," said Tracy Paulson, Glancer Magazine's Sales & Marketing Director, and client of The Neuroconnection. "My son has Asperger's syndrome and has been off medication since 2008. The brain training improved his focus, his listening skills, and his empathy and apathy to situations, and he is now on the honor roll."
