Naperville Police and Fire Departments Team Up to Provide Food to Local Charities Held February 20, 2009
At 8 a.m. on Friday, February 20, Naperville Mayor A. George Pradel and Assistant Fire Chief Richard Mikel went on a three-minute shopping spree through the frozen food section of Jewel-Osco to benefit Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry and DuPage PADS. This year’s event was a challenge between the Naperville Police and Fire Departments. Pradel competed for the police, with his frozen food being donated to Loaves & Fishes, while Assistant Fire Chief Rich Mikel donated his frozen food to DuPage PADS. The Midwest Frozen & Refrigerated Food Association sponsors the shopping spree event as part of National Frozen Food Month.
