2009 Civil War Days at the Naper Settlement
Held May 16-17, 2009
The saying, “You can never know where you’re going until you know where you’ve been,” is never truer than during Civil War Days held May 16-17 at Naper Settlement in downtown Naperville. The historic museum village came to life with the talents of more than 300 reenactors, who brought the turbulent time period of the 1860s to life. During this year’s reenactment, Naper Settlement welcomed award-winning actor Kevin McIlvaine, who portrayed abolitionist Frederick Douglass and Larry Werline, who portrayed General Ulysses S. Grant.
