MANY ARTISTS & MIXED
MEDIA MAKE THIS SHOP
UNIQUE
Acrylic canvases, mixed media pieces made of handmade paper and found objects, picture frames that can be custom ordered to fit the occasion, ceramics from a local artist, jewelry and clothing appear before your eyes after descending the colorful painted stairs to Cindy Fields Designs in downtown Naperville. "People love the casual feel of the space and that I still have a studio space that they get to see where art gets created. That's one of the unique aspects of my store," says owner Cindy Fields. "I have access to a lot of artists and different media from my relationships of doing art fairs over the past 25 years, so we represent many different styles." Fields still personally creates mixed media and acrylic paintings, eight of which are on display at Edward Hospital. She also creates custom picture frames reusing vintage materials. "We carry Beatriz Ball, which never needs polishing, the Trollbead line of contemporary beads and charms, and the FireFly crystal mosaic line of jewelry. We host group art shows as well as book signings with a local author, Travis Thrasher, and carry his books," Fields says. Join in the five-year celebration October 13-15th and take a walk down the famous painted stairs, smell the spa-like aromas from the Thyme candles, and hear an explanation of the products. Fields will tell you about the art, the artists, and may even sign an autograph or two. -Kristen Kucharski
